A Vancouver man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a three-hour standoff in the Fourth Plain Village neighborhood.

Police were called to 2615 Rossiter Lane about 11 p.m. Monday after Jerry Booker, 33, allegedly pointed a firearm at his neighbor during a dispute over loud music, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Booker then went back into his townhouse and police unsuccessfully tried to contact him using a public address system, police said.

At one point, a woman and two young children exited the residence. They told police that there was a firearm and a young child still sleeping inside the residence.

The Clark County Regional SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Team responded and Booker surrendered at 2 a.m. Tuesday. The child was found inside still sleeping, and police also found a .40-caliber handgun.

Booker was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault. Vancouver police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing and may result in additional or amended charges.
