Two alleged gang members appeared Monday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of a drive-by shooting early Friday outside of a Sifton-area bar.

Javontae N. Gibson, 19, and Johnny T. Hudson, 24, both of Portland, face charges of drive-by shooting and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm at their Friday arraignment.

Judge Barbara Johnson held each defendant on $200,000 bail. Attorney Megan Peyton was appointed to defend Gibson. Hudson plans to hire an attorney.

Hudson is accused of firing the shots from a vehicle passenger seat into the parking lot of the Avenue Lounge and Restaurant, 9115 N.E. 117th Ave., while Gibson allegedly drove the vehicle, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in court. The men are allegedly members of the Hoover Crips gang. The nightclub was hosting a rap concert for rival gang members late Thursday and early Friday, according to the affidavit.

Clark County sheriff’s deputies were called to the bar at 12:33 a.m. Sheriff’s detectives apparently witnessed the vehicle enter the bar’s parking lot, according to the affidavit. They heard gunshots about 30 seconds later and then saw the same vehicle speed out of the parking lot, the affidavit says. The detectives followed the vehicle, until uniformed deputies, summoned to the scene, could initiate a traffic stop in the 8200 block of Northeast 117th Avenue and arrest the two men, the court documents say.

Deputies said they made contact with patrons early Friday but didn’t immediately identify a victim. No one is believed to have been injured in the shooting.

Avenue Lounge’s website says the “FLAV’N Summer Jam 2” concert was hosted by Smurf Luchiano and Chillest Illest. Performers included Steve Joe, Philthy Rich, Meezilini, Da Bank’Roll, Aaron Obryan Smith, Quiz Zilla, Lil’ Face Williams, Ace Dough, Drama Simpson, Batmann, Childsplay Kidd, Tom Merfeld Wizeguy, Alonzo Mack and Karma Rivera. Prizes for N.W. STRIPPERS of the Year Awards also were to be given away at the event.
