Hazel Dell Metro will play for the Pacific Northwest Babe Ruth Regional championship Sunday.
The Clark County team beat Moses Lake 10-1 in the semifinals on Saturday at Borst Park in Centralia.
Hazel Dell’s 13-year-olds will face Mound Time of Hillsboro, Ore., at 10 a.m. The winner advances to the Babe Ruth World Series Aug. 17-24 in Williston, N.D.
Hazel Dell broke the game open with eight runs in the fourth inning. Meanwhile, Daniel Copeland pitched a complete game, striking out four and walking none.
Garrett Wellman, Derek Gomez, Nick Jennings and Grant Francis all had multiple hits for Hazel Dell. Andre Scheer had an RBI double and Tanner Jacques had a single and sacrifice bunt for an RBI. Taryn Yarnell added a double.
Mound Time beat Hazel Dell 12-5 in pool play Friday.

Senior Babe Ruth
KWRL (Centerfield) had an offensive explosion late Friday, beating Wyoming 23-12. But it wasn’t enough to advance at the Pacific Northwest Babe Ruth Regional Tournament for ages 16-18 in Klamath Falls, Ore.
Centerfield finished pool play in a three-way tie for second at 2-2. But the tiebreaker favored Brookings (Ore.), which nabbed the second semifinal berth from the pool.

Senior Little League
Columbia Little League lost 4-1 to Nogales National (Ariz.) Saturday at the West Regional in Ontario, Calif.
The loss dropped Columbia to 2-3 in pool play with two games remaining in the tournament for players ages 16-18.
Jose Deleon Guerrero and Marquese Williams limited the Arizona team to five hits, but Columbia was unable to take advantage of a bases loaded opportunity in the 4th inning.

Junior Little League
The Junior League Western Regional continued Saturday at Clark College.
Six teams played their second of three pool games in the 12-team tournament for Little Leaguers ages 13-14.
The host team, Central Vancouver (1-1), plays its final pool game at 5 p.m. today against West Valley of Yakima (1-1).

Rio Rico (Ariz.) 7, Central Maui (Hawaii) 6 — Rio Rico withstood a late rally to improve to 2-0 in pool play.
Trailing 7-2 after six innings, Central Maui (0-2) nearly fought back.
Gerardo Lopez drove in two runs for Rio Rico.
Brent Yapp and Damien Awai had three hits each for Central Maui.
Cedar National (Utah) 6, Reno American (Nev.) 0 — Jaden Hulet pitched a complete-game shutout as the Cedar City team improved to 1-1.
Nelly Padilla had three hits for Reno (1-1)
La Mirada (Calif.) 22, Mount Jumbo (Mont.) 0 — The tournament’s Southern California representative cruised, scoring 11 runs in the fifth.
Justin Scoggin, Chad Wilson and Kevin Kendall had two hits each for La Mirada (2-0). Missoula-based Mount Jumbo fell to 0-2 and won’t advance to the semifinals.
