Two Vancouver men remain in serious condition after a Thursday afternoon crash that closed Padden Parkway near Interstate 205 for several hours.

Richard Kubiniec, 50, was driving a 1985 Mazda RX7 north on I-205 and took the Padden Parkway eastbound exit about 1 p.m. Thursday, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Duncan Hoss said.

Kubiniec failed to negotiate the curve of the exit and drove in front of a 2002 Yukon SUV, driven by Robert Baxter, 64, which was also traveling east, Hoss said. The vehicles collided and both men were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

Hoss did not immediately have information on whether the crash resulted in a citation.
