Hazel Dell Metro is on a roll at the Pacific Northwest Babe Ruth Regional Tournament for 13-year-olds. With a 15-1 win Thursday over Calgary, Hazel Dell remained undefeated in pool play at the 10-team tournament at Borst Park in Centralia.
Daniel Copeland had a three-run triple and Taryn Yarnell had a two-run single as Hazel Dell jumped to an early lead. Wyatt Rogina allowed just two hits and struck out four in four innings.
Coming on the heels of a 10-1 win over Klamath Falls on Wednesday, Hazel Dell is now 3-0 and will wrap up pool play today against Mid-Willamette Valley.
Hazel Dell has clinched a berth in the semifinals Saturday. The winner of Sunday’s championship game advances to the World Series in Williston, N.D.
Senior Little League
Columbia Little League fell to 1-2 in pool play at the West Regional in Ontario, Calif. Columbia lost 2-1 to the host team Chino National. Jacob Brugman had two hits for Columbia. Columbia still has four pool games remaining in the eight-team tournament.

Junior Little League
The Junior League Western Regional continued Thursday at Clark College.
Six teams played their first of three pool games in the 12-team tournament for Little Leaguers ages 13-14.
The host team, Central Vancouver (0-1), plays its next pool game at 5 p.m. today against Woodcreek (Calif.) Little League (1-0).

Reno American (Nev.) 7, Central Maui (Hawaii) 6 — After jumping to a 4-0 lead, Reno had to score twice in the fifth inning to erase a 6-5 deficit. Nelly Padilla and Austin Thomas had two hits each. Damon Awai had three hits for Maui.
Rico Rio (Ariz.) 19, Mount Jumbo (Mont.) 3 — Rico Rio scored nine first-inning runs in a game that ended after five innings.
Sammuel Ligieu had three hits and Sean Fanning had two doubles for the Arizona representative.
Mount Jumbo of Missoula, Mont., managed just four hits.
La Mirada (Calif.) 12, Cedar National (Utah) 2 — La Mirada pitchers Robert Lan and Chad Wilson allowed just two hits in a game called after five innings. Lan was among four La Mirada batters with two hits.
Cedar National of Cedar City, Utah, allowed six first-inning runs.
