A Camas motorcyclist was injured in a crash that blocked westbound traffic on state Highway 14 for about an hour this morning.
As traffic slowed about 7:45 a.m., the motorcyclist “locked his brakes” and began to fishtail, falling onto the pavement on one side before popping back up and falling onto the other side, witnesses told troopers with Washington State Patrol.
The driver, Travis P. Monteith, 45, went over the handlebars and rolled down the highway, Trooper Will Finn said. He was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with lower back pain, facial abrasions and a possible head injury, Finn said.
All lanes of the highway were blocked for a short time before it was reduced to one lane for about an hour. Traffic was backed up for about a mile and a half while troopers investigated.
