The Port of Woodland, which provides public access for recreation across its Austin Point and Martin’s Bar properties to the Columbia and Lewis rivers, says it will increase security due to “ongoing unauthorized and illegal use of some of the property by off-roaders.”
The port has hired a private security firm to patrol the property. Security will warn offenders and give them the opportunity to leave without incident, the port said. If violators don’t leave, security personnel will contact authorities and citations will be issued, the port said. The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office and Woodland Police Department are on alert about the activity, the port said.
