• Scott Campbell, governmental and community affairs manager for Waste Connections Inc., has been appointed to the board of the Parks and Recreation Foundation of Vancouver and Clark County. Campbell will serve as a member of the foundation’s golf tournament planning team. He also will help secure sponsorship support for the organization’s community grant program.

• Greater Portland Inc.has hired Alisa Pyszka as the vice president of business recruitment and expansion. Pyszka brings a wealth of experience in business recruitment and regional economic development to the position. Most recently, she served as the economic development division manager for the city of Vancouver, where she led the city’s recruitment efforts and oversaw the development of critical employment lands. In her new role, Pyszka will be responsible for coordinating a proactive business recruitment program for the Portland-Vancouver metro area and providing support for the region’s business retention and expansion activities. Greater Portland Inc is a regional partnership helping companies expand and locate to the Portland-Vancouver metro area.

• Andy Beseda, will lead surveying at AKS Engineering & Forestry Vancouver LLC. Beseda, who has 36 years of surveying experience, was hired as the lead project surveyor for Washington projects. He is a professional land surveyor in Washington and Oregon, and is a member of the Land Surveyors Association of Washington and the National Society of Professional Surveyors. The AKS Engineering & Forestry group of companies is a locally owned firm.

• The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes has named Gene Ward as its new administrative assistant. Ward is a graduate of Washington State University Vancouver and currently attends Portland State University to pursue a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy.

• Dan Foster has become a financial private wealth adviser with Ameriprise Financial. Foster, who works in a Vancouver office at 15609 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., Suite 100, is focused on providing advice and financial solutions for clients with high asset levels.

• Troy Johns of Urban Homes NW has been named to the national board of directors of Home Innovation Research Labs, a third-party testing and certification firm and independent subsidiary of the National Association of Home Builders. Johns will provide support to home builders and local governments ready to take an active, responsible role in building best practices.

• Charmaine Lightheart has been named by Heritage Bank as vice president-branch manager at the bank’s Vancouver office. Lightheart has more than 16 years of management experience, including eight years in banking, most recently with Sterling Bank (formerly First Independent Bank).

• Mattress Factory Outlet of Vancouver has been selected by Tempurpedic as the only Portland-Vancouver independent retailer to be chosen as an elite retailer. Dulce Biasi was chosen for the Tempurpedic Dream Team for recognition of her outstanding customer service and product knowledge.n Eye Care Specialists of Vancouver, a local ophthalmology practice, has moved to a new, larger location and added a full-service optical department. • Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce is moving to a new location. As of May 1, it will be open at 317 E. • Northwest Natural Gas Company, dba NW Natural, has achieved Sustainability at Work’s Gold Certification for its leadership. To earn the honor, NW Natural completed numerous actions to benefit the local economy, community and environment, which were verified during an onsite visit from an adviser with Sustainability at Work. NW Natural is headquartered in Portland, and provides natural gas service to about 686,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

• Natural Body Works Wellness Center will have a grand opening from 5 to 8 p.m. May 9, to celebrate its new location at 903 Main St. Formerly located downtown on Broadway Street, the center has quadrupled its former size.
