The National Day of Prayer will be observed on May 2 in several ways, according to Dennis Fuqua of Clark County Prayer Connect.

A main gathering will take place outside the Clark County Public Service Center at 1300 Franklin in downtown Vancouver from noon to 1 p.m. The event is open to the public and all are welcome. Proclamations recognizing the 2013 National Day of Prayer will be read by representatives from both the City of Vancouver and Clark County.

Following that will be a prayer tour of several historic locations; there will also be a 7:30 p.m. gathering at the First Evangelical Church, 4120 N.E. St. Johns Road; a 7 p.m. gathering at Battle Ground Baptist Church, 1110 N.W. 6th Avenue, Battle Ground; and a 7 p.m. gathering at Bethel Community Church, 1438 “B” Street, Washougal.

Also, at 7 p.m. the MacArthur Boulevard Christian Church at 7300 MacArthur will hold activities for the family and host a keynote speaker, Mary Ann Cumens of the Northwest Bible Training Center.
