Vancouver Fire Department is investigating a report of several “suspicious piles” in the Fisher’s Landing area.

Someone called 911 dispatchers to report piles of suspicious-looking substances along Southeast 173rd Avenue, near 25th Street.

Vancouver Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Response Team is responding to the call, which came in just before 3 p.m. Friday.

A 911 dispatcher said there is “no indication it’s anything bad.”

The piles aren’t bubbling, foaming or smoking, just sitting alongside the road, the dispatcher said.
