A juvenile male, who decided he’d rather not attend his court proceeding any longer, sprinted out of the courtroom and into the path of three sheriff’s officers returning from lunch.
The nature of the hearing was not clear as of Friday afternoon.
Administrative Sgt. Fred Neiman sent out a photo from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Twitter account after the short-lived manhunt.
“We were walking back to the office from lunch,” Neiman said. “Over at the Thai place, Tiger’s Garden. We decided to walk and enjoy the nice day. And then we saw the patrol cars, and we all looked at each other and said ‘yep, they’re looking for somebody.'”
Nieman said he, along with Internal Affairs Sgt. Phil Sample and Administrative Cmdr. Rusty Warren, spotted a kid who looked a bit lost around the corner of West Evergreen Boulevard and Columbia Street.
