Nic Petan scored twice — his first just 2 minutes, 9 seconds after the puck dropped Wednesday — as the Portland Winterhawks took a commanding 3-1 lead in their Western Hockey League Western Conference Final series with a 3-0 road win over the Kamloops Blazers.

Seth Jones also scored for Portland, and Mac Carruth made 29 saves for his fourth shutout of this year’s playoffs and seventh of his career.

The Hawks can end the series at home Friday in Game 5 at the Rose Garden, beginning at 7 p.m.
