Someone vandalized the Clark College sign at the southwest corner of the campus at Fort Vancouver Way and McLoughlin Boulevard.

College President Bob Knight said he was disgusted and saddened. The vandalism apparently happened over the weekend.

“It’s just unfortunate,” Knight said. “It’s a beautiful campus and it’s a waste of the taxpayers’ money now that we have to repair that. … We take a lot of pride in the college.”

The sign was made by a professional firm, and Knight said it might take some time to get new letters made and erected. The letters are nearly 2 feet tall.

“It’s sad that someone had to do that,” Knight said. “We’ll try to get it repaired as quickly as possible.”
