Steven Webb, superintendent of Vancouver Public Schools, and the district’s board members attended the National School Boards Association annual conference in San Diego from April 12-15. Board members are Edri Geiger, Kathy Gillespie, Mari Greves, Dale Q. Rice and Mark Stoker.

The NSBA conference provides professional development for school board directors across the country. The district also was invited to speak in a panel discussion about innovative ways to use technology in the classroom.

Estimated costs were $1,250-$1,500 per person, depending on actual expenses. Expenses were paid by the district’s board development budget.

The last time the VPS board traveled to a national conference was April 2008.
