Dozens of Clark County houses will be on display this weekend as local home sellers take part in the coordinated Realtor Nationwide Open House, aimed at spurring nationwide home sales.
Communities across the nation are expected to participate in the Saturday and Sunday event, meant to connect potential homebuyers with available homes and stimulate the housing industry’s recovery. In Washington state, the open house event is being sponsored by the Washington Association of Realtors, which lists low mortgage interest rates as one of the top incentives potential buyers cite as a basis for their search.
Other buyers say they are feeling more confident now after putting the search off as the economy struggled, said Mark Kitabayashi, president of the association. Houses designated as part of the event will be decked out in bright blue balloons with the trademark Realtor “R” in white.
