A marathon training run at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday will take on a new focus as a show of support for Boston.

Organizers of the Vancouver USA Marathon have scheduled a series of monthly training runs. But in the wake of Monday’s bomb attacks during the Boston Marathon, they “will take a different stance, and open it to anyone that wants to come down and run/walk for Boston,” according to a news release.

It will start at the Grant House, 1101 Officers Row.

“It’s a chance for the running community to come together,” said Brian Davis, director of the Vancouver USA Marathon.

The event — dubbed the “What? Run” — will be free and open to all levels.

A 5:30 p.m. gathering, including a moment of silence, will precede the run.

“We typically run 3 to 5 miles, but there will be a shorter route for others,” Davis said.
