• The Vancouver-based International Air and Hospitality Academy has hired Wayne Matulich as its director of program development, and promoted Colleen Piller to director of marketing and Ed Bedecarrax to director of education. Matulich, who founded and led the Portland campus of ITT Technical Institute, will be responsible for building and expanding the academy’s programs. Piller, a 19-year academy employee, will oversee marketing, administration and career services. Bedecarrax, who joined the academy staff in 2006 after a 36-year career as a professor at San Francisco’s City College, will oversee the institution’s day-to-day operations.
o Taylor Vilhauer of Vancouver has joined Sustainable Wealth Management/KMS financial Services as an investment consultant. Taylor is a graduate of Washington State University and has a background in the financial services industry. He will be providing investment management and financial planning services to individuals and business owners primarily in the Clark County area.
• Alicia Simmons has been named as contents division manager for Paul Davis Restoration of Portland and Southwest Washington. She will help lead the process of packing customers’ belongings after a property insurance claims loss and before the restoration, repairs and reconstruction process. Simmons will coordinate the scheduling of Paul Davis’ contents teams, manage production, oversee computerized contents inventory applications, and work directly with customers. Additionally, Melissa Staley has joined the company as project coordinator. She will be responsible for overseeing customer service and communications with the office and will follow job-estimating and project progress. Staley, who was born and raised in Vancouver where she currently resides, has more than 15 years of experience in customer service.
• Vancouver Granite Works’ Joey Fuerstenberg was installed as president of the Pacific Northwest Monument Builders Association at a convention in Portland in late March. The regional trade association represents memorial businesses in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia. Fuerstenberg will serve a two-year term.
