Vancouver schools make staff changes

Vancouver Public Schools has announced changes in administrative staff for the 2013-14 school year, pending approval by the school board.

George Bryant, director of transportation, facility maintenance and operations, is retiring at the end of summer. Bryant’s responsibilities will be divided between Mick Hoffman, director of safety, security and athletics, who will add pupil transportation to his duties, and Todd Horenstein, assistant superintendent for facility support services, who will oversee maintenance.

Chris Olson, principal at Discovery Middle School, will be promoted to executive director for teaching and learning. Mark Cain, associate principal at Jason Lee Middle School, will be principal at Discovery. Luke LeCount, a teacher at Chief Umtuch Middle School in Battle Ground, will be associate principal at Jason Lee.

Troy Winzer, associate principal at McLoughlin Middle School, will be associate principal at Felida and King elementary schools. He will succeed LeMelle Soles, who is taking another instructional leadership position in the district.

Jim Condon, associate principal at Skyview High School, will be associate principal at McLoughlin. Abby Davis, teacher at Discovery, will be associate principal at Skyview.
