FEDERAL WAY — Transportation Department workers were spray-washing Interstate 5 lanes early Thursday at Federal Way, hours after a truck spilled a glue resin in an injury crash.

The Washington State Patrol says the semi-truck hit a disabled minivan about 7 p.m. Wednesday near the Highway 18 interchange. The 55-year-old woman driving the minivan was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious condition.

The 61-year-old truck driver was not hurt.

The truck spilled about 20,000 gallons of resin that closed northbound lanes into the morning rush hour as workers removed the sticky mess.
