Vancouver firm’s parent company honored by Intel

Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc., the Tokyo-based parent of Kokusai Semiconductor Equipment Corp., which has Vancouver operations, has been recognized as one of eight companies to receive Intel Corp.’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement award for 2012 performance.

The award recognizes quality and commitment to meeting Intel’s goals. Hitachi Kokusai Electric, Inc. provided diffusion furnaces, deemed vital to Intel’s success. Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc. is a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd, which manufactures consumer electronics and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

The company’s semiconductor equipment division designs, manufactures and services vertical diffusion and chemical vapor deposition systems used in semiconductor fabrication plants across the globe.
