Amboy — Lori Homola was honored for her outstanding community service work for schools and other organizations by the Mountain Valley Grange No. 79 during its Booster Recognition Night on March 22. Dave Johnson and Elinor Collins were also honored for their contributions to the Grange itself. There was plenty of homemade musical and comedic entertainment, along with a history of the Mountain Valley Grange, which was organized in 1889 in a Chelatchie Prairie log cabin; the current Grange hall was built by the members themselves in 1936. Improvements and upgrades are always under way.
