Our April showers will continue all week, off and on. A most usual forecast for April, I think. I mean this is the month for those showers in anticipation for the May flowers. The upcoming weekend brings in cold air aloft, allowing the possibility of snow, maybe all the way down to 2,000 feet or less in the Coast Range.
A warm-up similar to Easter weekend is not in the cards for some time; maybe we will enjoy a break the weekend of April 20-21. Also, with the cool air heading our way, if we get any clearing at all, we could see frost in the colder outlying areas, so keep a weather eye on that or your new potting plants could suffer.
The weekend rains more than doubled the total we had in Vancouver as of Friday. As of 4 p.m. Monday, we have 1.20 inches in the rain bucket for the month, nearly a half inch above average.
It was a good weekend for inside activities. Get any reading accomplished? In my case, it was writing. I was halfway tempted to turn on the gas fireplace for aesthetic purposes and add that warm and cozy feel to the pouring down rain outside, but I managed to do without.
