What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:
1
So Brittney Griner is open to the idea of trying out for the NBA. This should bother absolutely no one. If she does get a tryout, she will not be taking the spot of anyone else. She will just be another great athlete trying to make the best basketball league in the world.
With that said, we don’t like her chances of making an NBA team. Not because of her gender, but because of her position.
She was the most dominating post in women’s college basketball history. The 6-foot-8 Griner towered over her competition. In the NBA, she will just be another 6-foot-8 player but who is probably 80 to 100 pounds lighter than most of the other 6-foot-8 players.
We believe a woman will make the NBA one day, but that woman would be a guard, a 3-point specialist maybe, or a ball-handling whiz. Short people can make it big in the NBA, but not as posts.

The Madden Cover Jinx might be headed to Seattle.
Unless, of course, Seahawks fans get smart and start voting for other guys.
There is an old-school vs. new-school bracket going on in a deal with ESPN and EA Sports as to who will be on the cover of the next Madden football video game. The tournament is down to the Elite Eight. Russell Wilson of the Seahawks is up against Arian Foster of the Texans. Meanwhile, RGIII is up against Adrian Peterson.
On the other side of bracket Joe Montana is taking on Barry Sanders and Jerry Rice is facing Deion Sanders.
We hope an old-timer wins. That way, if the old-timer blows out his knee on the golf course, it won’t affect anybody’s fantasy team.
