• Dustin Klinger, a partner in the Vancouver office of Miller Nash LLP, has been appointed to serve as counsel to the board of trustees for the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Klinger’s practice serves business organizations, with an emphasis on real estate-related transactions. He is also a trustee with the Friends of the Columbia Gorge Land Trust and provides volunteer legal work.
• Rick Heffner, a Vancouver resident, has been appointed vice president of operations at Fred Meyer Stores. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all 133 Fred Meyer stores in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Heffner has been with the company since 1987. Fred Meyer operates seven stores in Clark County.
• Marc Jackson of Vancouver has been named a financial representative for Country Financial. He recently completed Country Financial’s training program. Jackson has a business degree from Washington State University Vancouver. He works in the Vancouver office, 16821 S.E. McGillivray Blvd., Suite 213.
• John Deeder, superintendent of the Evergreen School District, Nancy Baker, commissioner of Port of Vancouver, and Larry Smith, Vancouver City Council member have joined the board of directors of Partners in Careers. PIC serves veterans, youth, refugees and immigrants, low-income seniors and parents on public assistance.
