The Skyview boys basketball program is in search of a new coach.

The school and Adam Horn parted ways after Horn led the Storm for two seasons.

“At this point, I felt like I needed to refocus on my family and look at other opportunities down the road,” Horn said late Thursday night.

Skyview athletic director Jim Condon said he and Horn met a couple of weeks ago.

“It was mutually decided that it wasn’t a good fit,” Condon said.

Horn said the new coach will inherit quality players who are poised to perform.

“Skyview has a great group of kids,” Horn said. “I have no doubt there is going to be a lot of success there because of all of the talent.”

The Storm went 9-11 in Horn’s first season, then 10-11 this season, losing in the first round of the district tournament.

Prior to coming to Skyview, Horn coached at Hockinson, leading the Hawks to the Class 2A state tournament in 2009 and 2010.

Horn is not sure where he will end up, or when he will coach again. But he expects to be roaming a basketball bench again.

“I love coaching. It’s something I have a passion for,” he said.

The Skyview job has been posted, and the school has heard from candidates.

“We’re looking for someone to build the program, long-term, into a successful program like our other athletic programs in our building,” Condon said.
