PR firm publishes CRC ‘factbook’

The Columbian
Published: April 4, 2013, 5:00pm

A Portland-based communications firm on Thursday released a Columbia River Crossing “factbook” highlighting key figures and arguments in support of the controversial project.

The 64-page document, published by CFM Strategic Communications, also includes a list of people and organizations that have endorsed the CRC, projections and data from the project office, and a collection of mostly favorable editorials and news coverage. The publication comes as Washington state lawmakers mull whether to provide key funding to the project this year.

CFM last month hired Page Phillips to its public affairs team. Phillips also serves as Washington director of the Columbia River Crossing Coalition, an advocacy group that supports the project.

The $3.4 billion CRC would replace the Interstate 5 Bridge, rebuild freeway interchanges in Washington and Oregon, and extend light rail into Vancouver.

CFM’s document is available at www.cfm-online.com/crc-factbook/.
