What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

It was gruesome. It was shocking. It was stunning.
But if you look close enough, it also was touching, moving.
Kevin Ware’s leg exploded, and the first reaction for so many was to look away, to get away. After all, it was awful.
However, if you ever get a chance to see the replay again, even if you don’t want to see the injury, take a look at the Louisville bench.
The players reacted at once. They were in horror. They grabbed each other, with most trying to look away.
Within a second or two, one guy snapped out of that shock. One guy broke free of the grasp of all of his friends on the bench and leapt to the floor. One guy raced to be at Ware’s side.
No. 11 from Louisville. Luke Hancock. Our man of the the tournament.
It was Hancock who ran toward the horrorible scene. He was there to hold Ware’s hand, to pat him on the chest, to comfort his friend.
We are not suggesting he is a better teammate than the rest of the Cardinals. Far from it. The players and coaches probably had a natural reaction to such a sight.
Hancock might have been sick to his stomach, too. But he also knew a friend was in need.
Most of us do not need to see the injury again. But all of us should take a look at Hancock’s response.
We would want Luke Hancock to be on our team.

How cool was that to see Sandy Koufax throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on Opening Day?
So what if the Hall-of-Famer lefty bounced it in there? The dude is 77 years old — and they did encourage him to throw from the mound.
In true Hollywood fashion, the Dodgers had Magic Johnson start as the ceremonial thrower only to have Dodgers manager Don Mattingly come out of the dugout and call to the bullpen for a lefty.
And what other lefty would you expect to see if you know anything about the history of the Dodgers?
