Try This: Take pick of pumpkin patch

You might find a pumpkin the size of the harvest moon this weekend as Bi-Zi Farms opens its pumpkin patch to visitors. The farm celebrates the harvest with many activities including a large corn maze, hay-bale pyramid, pedal tractor-driving, covered-bale maze, calf-roping station, live music and pony rides. Admission includes apple cider samples and one small pumpkin.

When: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today and Sunday.

Where: Bi-Zi Farms, 9504 N.E. 119th St., Vancouver.

Admission: $8, free for children ages 2 and younger.

The pumpkin patch is one of many options for getting out and about this weekend. Others include a harvest festival and benefit party.

2. Fall festival celebration

The first Lewis River Fall Fest features an art competition, classic car show, the Antiques Alley Roadshow, duck boat rides, wine tastings and food vendors. Main stage music includes performances by 24/7, Blue Light, The Catillacs, Stephen’s Project, Gracie Harris, and The AccoustaCats. Proceeds will go toward building the Scott Hill Park & Sports Complex in Woodland.

When: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

3. Stomp out hunger

Rusty Grape Vineyard invites the public to help stomp the latest harvest of grapes into juice while benefiting the North County Food Bank. Stompfest will include live music by Matt Brown and John Baker, along with pizza, wine and beer. There will be four stomps throughout the day, at 1, 3, 5 and 7 p.m., with 10 stomp participants per time slot.

4. Enjoy the night

The Downtown Camas Association is hosting the third annual Girls’ Night Out, a celebration of women and local cancer charities. There will be an afternoon of wellness education sessions, followed by an evening party complete with free massages, beauty treatments, photo shoots, art projects, games, live music and more. Proceeds benefit the Pink Lemonade Project and the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Oregon and Southwest Washington.

5. Get caught in ‘Looper’

In the future, time travel is used by the mob as a way to dispose of people into the past, where a “looper” waits with a gun. Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is one of those hired guns, until the mob decides to close the loop by sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. Suddenly Joe’s future doesn’t look so bright. “Looper” is rated R.
