Kelso’s kept the game on the ground the entire game, only accumulating throwing four pass attempts the entire game. Quarterback Aaron Adams threw his lone completion on a 54-yard pass to Mason Meeker that eventually set up a 10-yard touchdown run by Lloyd Melone.
Melone finished with 95 yards on 10 carries and finished with three touchdown runs. Davis Radcliffe and Matt Hellum each had a touchdown run of their own. Radcliffe also added a 40 yard punt return to the scoreboard. The team scored on four of its first five possessions.
The Hilander ground game was not the only thing clicking on all cylinders, as the defense held Hudson’s Bay to only three net yards on their first five possessions, forcing four punts and recovering a fumble on the other.
Devon Casey led the Eagle offense, finishing with 80 yards on 12 carries. He also had a 22-uard run called back because of a penalty on the offensive line. Joseph Bomers was a key cog in the Bay defense, catching an errant pass from Kelso for an interception and coming up with crushing tackles throughout the game.
