Union’s defense forced three Heritage turnovers and Leon Siofele scored four rushing touchdowns as the Titans opened 4A Greater St. Helens League play with a win at McKenzie Stadium.
Nolan Henry passed for 325 yards, 235 of them to Trent Cowan.
Two first-half pass interceptions helped turn the tide toward Union.
On Heritage’s first possession, the Timberwolves moved to the Titan 10 with the help of three penalties and a fake punt. But Union’s Bryce Evans intercepted a pass in the end zone.
In the second quarter, the Titans Matt Reeves picked off a Standiford pass and took it 59 yards for a Union touchdown.
In the first half, Henry completed nine passes, all to Trent Cowan. Those netted 224 yards and included plays of 71 and 53 yards to set up Union touchdowns.
