Maintenance work will close all southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 Bridge overnight Friday, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The southbound span will close from 11 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday. The closure will allow crews to complete various maintenance work, including the removal of scaffolding used during earlier counterweight repairs, according to ODOT. The closure is needed to place equipment on the roadway, and protect drivers from falling equipment, officials said.
On Saturday night, ODOT will close the left and center southbound lanes to continue removing scaffolding. Those restrictions will last from 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday. During the closures, drivers heading from Vancouver to Portland can take Interstate 205 across the Glenn Jackson Bridge.
