Ridgefield — A Polynesian theme set the tone for the La Center Historical Museum’s gala fundraiser on Sept. 15 at the newly restored Summit Grove Lodge in Ridgefield. Barbara Barnhart, board president, said that more than $10,000 was raised at the event, which was the museum’s most successful fundraiser to date. The event included a silent auction, the screening of the classic 1958 musical “South Pacific,” a live auction orchestrated by auctioneer Fred Boyd and an authentic Polynesian dinner prepared by celebrity chef Rick Browne and Russel Brent’s Mill Creek Pub in Battle Ground. Wines by Bethany Vineyards in Ridgefield complemented the menu. To learn more about the museum, visit http://www.thelacentermuseum.org.
