Camas Antiques is holding a silent auction for a mill wright tool box with contents.
The tool box was used by John Zeigler, a millwright at the Camas paper mill from the 1920s to 1950s. In the box are more than 100 pieces, including planes, drills, saws and even a foot-and-a-half long monkey wrench. While some tools are old and “obsolete,” others could be sharpened for use or put on display for decoration.
“The box is the best bit, I think,” said Clark Crawford, who works at Camas Antiques. “It’s the perfect size for a coffee table, and that’s really popular right now.”
The bidding started at $100. Proceeds will benefit the Downtown Camas Association.
“It’d be a shame to see it sell so low,” added Crawford. “It’d be such a steal.”
For more information and to place a bid by the Sept. 29 deadline, visit Camas Antiques, located at 305 N.E. Fourth Ave., or call 834-4062.
