Tim Hergert caught a 14-yard pass from Loren Standiford for a touchdown with 1:01 left in the game to send the Timberwolves to their first victory of the season in a non-league game Saturday in Federal Way.

Hergert finished with six receptions for 168 yards and three touchdowns. Standiford completed 12 of 26 passes for 328 yards and five touchdowns.

Heritage rallied for a 27-14 deficit in the third quarter. E’Lon Mack had a 47-yard TD pass play in the third quarter — his lone catch of the day. Hergert’s 62-yard TD pass play put Heritage up 28-27 with 8:37 left in fourth quarter.

Decatur reclaimed the lead 33-28 with a touchdown with 3:19 left.

Mack’s 21-yard kickoff return set up the Timberwolves’ winning drive at their own 31.

Victor Duran had a 34-yard reception on the first play of the drive, and Mack’s 11-yard run moved the ball to the Decatur 24.

A penalty and a five-yard run by Simon Bos set up Hergert’s 14 yard touchdown reception.
