Bicyclist hit by truck in Salmon Creek, sent to hospital

A bicyclist was sent to the hospital Friday morning with non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a pickup truck in Salmon Creek.

The crash was reported at the intersection of Northeast 23rd Avenue and Northeast 134th Street at 7:06 a.m. Clark County Fire District 6, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and American Medical Response responded.

The bicyclist was conscious and breathing and initial reports were his legs were run over, said Sgt. Fred Neiman, sheriff’s spokesman.

The man was sent to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

His injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening, Neiman said.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
