The number of newcomers to Clark County, as measured by local driver’s license applications, increased slightly in August.
According to the Washington Department of Licensing, 1,157 people turned in out-of-county driver’s licenses for local ones last month. That’s up from July’s 1,031 applications and also up slightly from the 1,104 licenses issued in September 2008.
Licensing data is considered a population indicator. Through August, drivers license applications totaled 8,179, a 9.8 percent decline from the 9,063 licenses issued during the same period in 2011.
