Organizers are seeking volunteers to help run this week’s Columbia River Watershed Festival, an event that will bring close to 1,000 schoolchildren to Washougal’s Captain William Clark Regional Park.
The festival includes natural resource-themed presentations and activities related to recycling, water conservation, local plants and animals. Organizers are looking for class guides and general event volunteers, according to Columbia Springs education center, which is helping coordinate the event.
The two-day festival is Thursday and Friday, Sept. 27-28. Volunteers will be needed between about 9 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Thursday, and 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday, according to Columbia Springs.
