Battle Ground lifts water emergency declaration

Battle Ground officials have lifted the water emergency declaration issued last week.

The city issued a water emergency on Sept. 14 after a pump failed at one of the city’s high-production wells. The pump has since been repaired and is fully operational.

Last week’s declaration called for immediate voluntary reductions in the consumption of water due to the pump failure and rising temperatures.

City officials said the water conservation efforts of residents and businesses helped maintain a safe level of water in the city’s reservoirs.
