Waterloo Restaurant Ventures Inc., the Vancouver-based company that operated a dozen versions of Romano’s Macaroni Grill restaurants on the West Coast, is apparently on the verge of shutting down, the Portland Business Journal reported Friday.
Waterloo has sold or closed most or all of its restaurants. The company, which formerly operated a dozen Macaroni Grills, closed four Portland-area restaurants and one in Seattle on Tuesday, giving little notice to vendors or employees. The closures came five months after the company sought protection from creditors by filing for Chapter 11 under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in Dallas.
Waterloo’s Vancouver office is at 201 N.E. Park Plaza Drive. Calls to the company were not returned.
