Warrant sweep nets 32 arrests

A multiagency warrant sweep aimed at Clark County gang associates and violent criminals resulted in 32 arrests and 23 charges earlier this month.

The operation was conducted on Sept. 5 and 6 by officers with the Vancouver Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Corrections, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Marshals Service and Homeland Security Investigations.

The Vancouver Police Department on Thursday announced that 32 people were taken into custody, clearing 26 felony and 13 misdemeanor warrants and resulting in 23 charges.

According to a VPD news release, more than 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine, 3 ounces of marijuana, 8.9 grams of heroin and 71 pills were seized. Police also recovered brass knuckles, a stolen motorcycle, a stolen car, stolen jewelry and stolen clothing.

The sweep included 13 VPD cases and four sheriff’s office cases.
