Eugene, Ore.-based Mohawk Metal Co. is expanding into Vancouver with plans to hire up to 20 people by the end of this year. Earlier this month, the company opened its 20,000-square-foot satellite shop at 3825 N.E. 68th St. in Vancouver.
The company does custom metal fabrication, including precision laser-cut and formed parts, decorative cutouts and welded steel structures.
Mohawk is investing $1.5 million in equipment for the Vancouver operation, including a robotic welder and a laser-cutting machine. The new site allows more personalized service to the company’s customers in Portland and Vancouver, Tony Bloom, Mohawk’s co-owner, said in a news release.
