Ridgefield — Each month, student representatives of fourth through sixth grades at Union Ridge Elementary School get together with principal Angela Freeman and other administrators over lunch to help them do their jobs. The students provide feedback on school issues and bring suggestions and ideas from their classmates. Last year, they met with Connie Vowels, director of food service for the Ridgefield School District, and made such concrete suggestions as less greasy pizza and healthier options on the menu. This year, the Principal Advisory Team will develop a team of student math tutors.
