PORTLAND — Expect the roar of jet fighters until about 10 p.m. this week. The Oregon Air National Guard’s 142nd Fighter Wing unit, based in Portland, will conduct a week of routine night training flights Monday through Friday, according to a news release.
All flights are scheduled to finish before 10 p.m.
The training helps both pilots and aircraft maintenance personnel stay current and meet Air Force training requirements.
Night-flying in an F-15 fighter jet involves the use of night-vision goggles, night aerial refueling and other tactics and procedures that must be routinely practiced.
