Hockinson 60, Fort Vancouver 7

The Hockinson defense was impenetrable the entire night, holding Fort Vancouver to minus-25 yards rushing in the first quarter and picking off their quarterback five times.

Thomas Kirschenbaum started things off early for the Hawks with a 4-yard touchdown run. After a three-and-out from the Fort offense and a failed punt attempt, Kirschenbaum punched in another 4-yard run.

On Hockinson’s second play on its next possession, Jess Krahn threw his first of four touchdowns on a 60-yard play to Ryan Holland.

Hockinson recovered the kickoff on the very next play and scored another touchdown within 30 seconds on a Josh Joy 4-yard run, finishing the quarter on a 28-0 lead.

Krahn, shortly after the beginning of the second quarter, tossed a 60-yard TD pass to Nick Guinett, his only catch of the game.

Fort Vancouver’s quarterback, Jordan Suell finished the Trapper’s following possession 4-of-5 with 65 yards, and completed an 11-yard pass up the middle to William Doty. Doty finished with 116 yards receiving and some incredible catches, including a one-handed 27-yard grab on Suell’s first pass of the game.

Krahn tossed his third touchdown to Nick Barclay with an 80-yard pass and the team followed this score up with another touchdown as Jesse Tonkinson intercepted the first pass from Fort on the next possession, bringing the insurmountable lead to 46-7 after the first half.

Hockinson refused to quiet down, as Krahn threw for his final touchdown of the game, an 18-yard pass over the Trapper defense to Taylor Guzman.

After a few failed possessions from both teams, the Hawks scored again as Jacob Pearrow ran in a touchdown of his own, sealing the victory at 60-7.
