Hazel Dell — Is the fabled Fountain of Youth in the First Congregational United Church of Christ’s 180-foot stained glass skylight? With his tongue in his cheek, pastor Brooks Berndt said thinks so. The church honored 12 members who are age 90 or older in a July 15 ceremony. Berndt says, “Archaeologists have been looking for the Fountain of Youth in Florida, when it is really to be found in the rejuvenating streams of light coming through our stained glass.” Agnes Alexander, 94, is the church’s oldest member. Other members who are at least 90 years old are Cliff Boydstun, 90; Grace Brandis, 94; Al Duvall, 90; Ed Frank, 90; Ruby Frank, 91; Carolyn Hatfield, 92; Dorothea Johnson, 90; June Lasher, 92; John Priel, 90; Irma Slocum, 91; and Charlotte Warren, 92.
