Battle Ground — The Battle Ground Rotary Club raised about $22,000 at its Oct. 6 event, “A Black and White Affair: The Great Gatsby,” at the Heathman Lodge in Vancouver. Attendees were treated to a night with music by both Jesse Holyk and The Al Perez Band, a casino night assisted by Portland-based entertainment company Wild Bill’s, a photo booth, a hosted wine bar, and silent and live auctions. The event was sponsored by Riverview Bank, Waste Connections Inc., Sterling Bank and Columbia Title. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit academic and vocational scholarships, North County Food Bank, international service projects and other local programs.
