VANCOUVER — Troubadour and storyteller “Illinois” Doug Tracy will take his audience on the presidential campaign trails of 1860 and 1864 in a presentation Thursday at the Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St.
Tracy’s appearance at 7 p.m. will be the museum’s final First Thursday program of the year.
In “Liberty & Union,” Tracy will explore the musical aspects of the 1860 and 1864 presidential elections.
“Music was a main form of campaigning used by presidential candidates in the 1860s,” Tracy said. “These songs give us an insight to the candidates’ positions and how divided Americans were at the time of the Civil War.”
Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, $2 for children and $10 for families. There is no charge for Clark County Historical Society members, and active duty military personnel and their families.
