Northwest Natural Gas Co. rates will drop for the fourth year in a row, following a decision Thursday by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission.
Effective Nov. 1, rates will drop by about 8 percent — saving a typical household using 56 therms per month or about $5 on each month’s bill.
Northwest Natural adjusts its rates annually to reflect changes in wholesale natural gas prices, which have declined because supplies are robust throughout the U.S. and weak economic conditions have kept demand down.
Portland-based Northwest Natural serves more than 681,000 residential and business customers in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
