Prep roundup: Hockinson soccer wins 2A GSHL

Kavita Battan had a goal and an assist as the Hockinson girls soccer team beat Washougal 3-1 to wrap up the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League title.

The Hawks will host a first-round match in the 2A district tournament on Saturday against the No. 4 team from the 2A Evergreen Conference.

Gabriell Burell and Rylee Seekins also added goals for the Hawks.

Washougal finished tied with Mark Morris for third place. The Panthers and Monarchs will play Thursday in a tiebreaker match to determine the final berth to the district playoffs.

Ridgefield 3, R.A. Long 0 — Jordyn Voyles scored two goals as the Spudders clinched second-place in the 2A GSHL. Ridgefield will host in the 2A Evergreen Conference’s No. 3 team on Saturday in the first round of the district playoffs.

King’s Way Christian 2, Kalama 1 — Lexi Becker scored off a deflection with 26 seconds to play to help the Knights clinch at district playoff berth.

Becker’s goal was scored after Callie Crawford took a shot that bounced off a goalpost.

King’s Way will finish third in the Trico League and play at the 1A Evergreen Conference’s No. 2 next Tuesday in the district playoffs.

La Center 5, White Salmon 0 — Kaitlyn Bigley scored three goals and Byrnne Dykes added the other two as the Wildcats clinched a share of the Trico League title.

La Center can win the title outright with a win at King’s Way Christian on Thursday. The Trico League champion is assured of a berth to the 1A state tournament.

Woodland 8, Stevenson 0 — Kelly Nigro scored three goals and Katie Kern added two as Woodland finished Trico League play at 14-2. The Beavers are assured of finishing no worse than second in the Trico and can tie La Center for first if the Wildcats lose Thursday.

Columbia River 8, Fort Vancouver 0 — The Chieftains locked up the 3A GSHL championship and No. 1 seed to the bi-district playoffs with the win.

Volleyball

Camas 3, Heritage 0 — Brindl Langley ahd 13 kills, seven digs and four aces as Camas clinched the 4A GSHL title with a 25-17, 25-14, 25-12 win.

Prairie 3, Hudson’s Bay 0 — Karlee Lubenow had 21 kills and seven digs as Falcons clinched the 3A GSHL title with a 25-8, 25-12, 25-13 victory.

King’s Way Christian 3, La Center 0 — Erin Spowls had 15 kills and three assists as the Knights captured first place in the South Division of the Trico League with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-19 win over La Center.
