CAMAS — Candidates for a number of local offices will visit Camas High School at 7 p.m. Monday for the Camas Youth Advisory Council’s 10th annual political forum.
Ten politicians from five races are scheduled to participate. They include U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, and her opponent, Democrat Jon Haugen; 18th District Sen. Ann Rivers, R-La Center, and her opponent, Democrat Ralph Schmidt; 18th District candidates Brandon Vick and Adrian Cortes, both Republicans, who are vying for an open seat in the state House of Representatives; 18th District incumbent state Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, and her opponent, Democrat David Shehorn; and Clark County commissioner candidates, incumbent Marc Boldt, a Republican, and opponent David Madore, also a Republican.
The youth advisory council will collect student- and community-generated questions. The forum will be broadcast on Clark Vancouver Television at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday on Channel 21 and 6:30 p.m. Thursday on Channel 23.
